About Barbara Cooper
Barbara Cooper - affectionately known as Babs - is the founder of Embody Freedom, a platform created to help others move beyond body shame and step into greater self-love, presence and personal power.
For years, Babs wrestled with deep-seated body image issues, shame and self-doubt. She knows first-hand how isolating and painful it can feel to live in conflict with your own body. But through years of personal development, healing and spiritual growth, she came to a powerful realisation: true freedom doesn’t come from changing your body. It comes from changing how you see and treat yourself.
That journey of transformation inspired her to write her debut book, Embody Freedom, part memoir, part practical guide. It invites readers to witness her story with honesty and vulnerability while offering tools for their own healing.
Today, Babs is actively developing a range of offerings, including a 21 day challenge, on-line courses and ultimately, mindfulness and healing retreats, to further support people on their path to embodiment and acceptance.
In addition to her work with Embody Freedom, Babs has a professional background in inclusive health care, where she supports some of society’s most marginalised individuals, including those experiencing homelessness and people seeking asylum. Compassion, dignity and human connection are central to her life and work.
When she’s not writing or holding space for others, Babs finds joy in walking in nature, spiritual reflection and spending time with her cherished friends and family. Her mission is clear: to help others come home to themselves, free from shame and full of possibility.
Because your body isn’t a battleground. It’s where your life begins.
